I had been wanting to do this post for several days, the truth is that this book had been on my to-do list for a long time. I read the book, which took me 3 days.
At first I thought it was going to be the typical cliche story of a nice girl meeting a popular bad boy in high school falling in love. She would then change him. However, I was wrong. Is it a cliche? Yes. Is it a toxic relationship cliche? No, that’s what I loved about it.
To All The Boys is a book written in first person which has relatable content. There were many moments where I felt the same way Lara Jean did.
I felt very identified with Lara Jean, she is the girl who goes unnoticed, who likes to read romances (100% me), believes in love, and lives in love with the idea of love (again 100% me). She is not the typical nerdy girl, who has no personality, who is subjected to continuous bullying and the boy comes to save her. It is far from it. Lara Jean, although she is a little dependent on her sister, she has a personality, she makes her own decisions (although sometimes she messes up), and she does not play as a victim. I felt very identified with this character, because of the way she sees life and I agree with many of her fears (I think we all fall into one).
